Snood

anarule.gif (1534 bytes)

I was making a Christmas ornament, and it got a mind of its own. It ended up being a snood, of the type my Dad calls a "bun warmer". It's not a Rosie-the-Riveter type, it's a "cover your bun" type.

Text in [here] is repeated around the pattern

I used gold bedspread thread and a size one hook

ch 2

Round 1: 10 sc in 2nd chain from hook

Round 2: ch-4, [dc, ch-1] nine times around, ch 1, sl st to 3rd chain of original ch-4 in row

Round 3: [ch-3, sc on next dc] around

Round 4: sl st 2 to center of ch-3, [ch4, sc in center of ch-3 loop]

Round 5: sl st 2 to center of ch-4 loop, ch-3 (counts as 1st dc), [ch-3, 4 dc in center of adjoining loop] until last loop. Last loop: ch-3, 3 dc, then sl-st to 3rd chain of original ch-6

Round 6: Repeat row 5, with the double crochets in the center of the chain-3 loops between motifs

Round 7: Repeat Round 6

Round 8: Repeat Round 6

Round 9: sl st 2 to center of ch-3 loop, [ch-9, sc in center of loop between motifs]

Round 10: Repeat Round 9, finish off

Chain 9 inches of thread as a tie, or use a ribbon.  Weave in inner loops, tighten to tie around bun
